Cheater, Cheater.

So I've finally caught up on my 30 Day Blog Challenge. If you're real smart (or not smart at all), you've probably realized that I've been back-posting a lot of my entries. This is because I suck. I went out of town during the middle of the challenge and never really got back into the swing of things.

I have a few more posts on the back burner that I'm working on right now, and hope to have up soon. Here's the challenge I did if you're interested at all.

Remember

This post comes a little late but I've been thinking about it for weeks
but I wanted to get caught up with my other posts before posting new ones.

10 years ago today I was sitting in my living room reading a book before class. It was 6:30 in the morning and I was up early because my room was dirty and I had to get up to clean it. My dad called the house and told me to turn on the news. He was at the church where he had driven my sister to seminary that morning.

I turned on the TV and saw the towers. I watched the replay as the 2nd plane hit the towers.  I gasped out loud. I remember not being able to catch my breath. I didn't understand what was happening. I was a 12 year-old 7th grader with limited world experience. I knew, in an abstract sense,  that bad things happened. That there were people that made these bad things happen.

I was sick all day. At school, everyone seemed to me moving in a fog. I remember being in line for lunch when someone popped their chip bag and it sounded kind of like a gun shot. Everyone screamed and I ducked to the ground. Some people laughed. I remember wanting to cry.

The world didn't make sense after that. The idea that there were people in the world that would kill people simply because they were American shook me.

All those lives lost in the initial attack and those of the brave men and women who charged in to help will not go unremembered.

I was listening to this song on the way home from San Jose a couple of weeks ago and it hit me. In this twisted world, we need to stand together. United we stand. Love one another. Be excellent to each other.

Day 30: A photograph of you today + three good things that have happened in the past 30 days.

Not the best quality pic, but it was taken with my iPhone because I was too lazy to scrounge up my camera and then transfer the photos to my laptop.

So. Three good things that have happened in the last 30 days

1. My friend and fellow blogger, Stacey Bond, came for a visit that consisted of a lot of watching The IT Crowd and painting our nails.
2. I got to go to Salinas to see some friends from college. It was heavenly. Not only seeing my peeps, but also because it was for reals 30 degrees cooler there than in Clovis.
3. I finally found a pair of black boots for the fall!! They're amazing! And I got them on major clearance. Sweetness!!

Day 29: A TV show you're currently addicted to.

Ok. So anyone that knows me, knows that I am a mondo fan of the picture box. I love tv shows. I get all giddy and emotionally invested in them.

A show that I've been a little obsessed with this summer is Rookie Blue on ABC. Though not super heavy on the really gritty side of law enforcement, this dramedy, is character driven. I like the characters and think that Ben Bass kind of kicks butt as Officer Sam Swarek, he's a little dreamy.

Day 28: Your favorite band or singer and why.

I don't really have a definitive band or artist that is my favorite. I have "Favorite Artists of the Moment", though, and my favorite artist of the moment is Elli Goulding. I've listened to her album Lights on repeat for a couple of weeks.

Day 27: A photograph of the town you live in.

Clovis, CA is currently my home base. Nestled in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, Clovis is very hot. This hamlet is located very close to the more well-known city of Fresno.

My parent moved here my first semester of college, so here I am until I get a job. I grew up in San Jose, CA; so it's been a bit of a change.

Day 26: What's in your makeup bag?

This is my train case where I store all my makeup. It looks a little daunting and is full of lots of stuff to enhance your already pretty looks.

The rundown starting in the top left and moving clockwise:
1. My eye shadows and hair ties/bobby pins. The compact with the eyes on it is the one I use the most often, it's from Too Faced and awesome.
2. The set of brushes that came with my Bare Minerals makeup.
3. My Bare Minerals makeup set including foundation, bronzer, blush, and a mineral veil. There's some more eye makeup, too.
4. The whole shebang.

My moisturizer and hair junk. Also some extra mascara for when mine dry up. I really like the Maybelline Falsies in the purple tube. On my hair I use Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum, it makes my hair less tangly and easier to blow dry.

Most of the junk posted here I don't use on a daily basis. A lot of these goodies only come out on special occasions or a fancy night out.

Day 25: "A day in the life", photographs taken throughout your day.

On this particular day*, I was awoken by my dad with the request to pick up some donuts. He's blind, so for obvious reasons he can't dash out and get his own. Following the donut run, I folded some laundry and worked on plotting my novel in Storybook, a writing software.

That evening the fam went to Popolo's Pizza for dinner, it's the best pizza we've found in Clovis so far. My family might have strayed to Jake's for a while, but I'm no fool. Popolo's has always been my main squeeze. I rounded out the day with some late night grocery shopping in 90 degree weather. It kind of sucked.

Thrilling, right?

* This isn't actually what I did on September 5th, because I don't remember what I did on September 5th. But this happened near September 5th. Good enough?

Day 24: A photo of your favorite fast food place to eat.

I love fast food. I know it's supremely bad for you, but it just taste so good. I have a couple favorites.

When in Idaho or Utah, or other places that serve fry sauce, I love Five Guys. A bacon cheeseburger and an order of cajun fries, and I am sitting pretty. You have to have the fry sauce though. The experience without it is just not the same. I had my first visit post-Idaho and it just wasn't as delicious. Still an amazing place, though. Oh, and they give you a ton of fries, so if you go, share with a friend.

An all-around favorite is McDonald's. I love their double cheeseburgers. There's probably crack in them they are so good. For real. I'm pretty much always down for a cheeseburger. One of life's pleasures.

Day 23: Baby names you've always loved.

I'm almost hesitant to post the names I love here as I don't want them to get taken before I can use them. Let's face it though, pretty much everyone is closer to having a child than I am.

Anyways, here are some of the names I've always loved. They're not super crazy or anything.

Day 22: A photo of your favorite item of clothing.

I think one of my favorite items of clothing is my grey bomber jacket from Torrid. I practically lived in this baby my last semester of college. Wear a hoodie underneath, and you're set for a really cold day.

Day 21: The Urban Dictionary definition of your first name.

1. Kristi - A word used to describe a hott girl.

That girl's name must be Kristi, she is fineeee.
